Collage: A Journal of Creative Expression It is with great excitement that we announce that Columbia Scholastic Press Association awarded Collage a Silver Crown for the second year in a row! Of the 1,888 current CSPA members eligible to enter the Crown Awards, 1,355 magazines, newspapers and yearbooks actually submitted copies for this particular judging. Judging took place at Columbia University from December 8-11, 2007 by the Board of Crown Judges. Publications were judged on writing/editing, design, concept, photography, art and graphics. Only 13 Gold and 18 Silver Crown Awards were given. The Honors College assumed control of the venerable literary and arts publication known as Collage in the fall of 2004. Now with a newly added subtitle and a comprehensive operations manual, Collage: A Journal of Creative Expression is published semi-annually. Collage is run by a student editor and an editorial board, also composed exclusively of students. The award-winning publication is overseen by an advisor and by a faculty advisory board. Contributions to the magazine are limited to enrolled MTSU students. The journal serves both as an outlet for the creative works of MTSU students and as a laboratory for those interested in publication and arts criticism. Collage maintains working space in the Martin Honors Building (HONR 224). To learn more about the publication or how to become involved, visit mtsu.edu/~collage or phone (615) 898-5789. |
